Day One a Success

We all arrived on time at the departure location and were on the road at 4 AM as planned. The drive started with rain and snow and continued through until Boston Bar. We drove through the devastation left from the fires last summer and the floods this fall. We saw the power of mother nature and were reminded once more who is really in control.
We stopped to get some footage near Lytton, and then continued on our way. As it began getting dark our original planned camp site did not work out, big piles of snow were blocking the secondary routes and it was very muddy. We continued on past Fraser Lake, finding a campground advertised past Fraser Lake. When we arrived the road in was very snowy and narrow. We decided to set up camp in a large turnaround area. Fortunately there was a tree waiting to be used as firewood close at hand, however, we were also next to a rail line that seemed to get busier the later it got. Overall a success!
